The fire dept meets monthly on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 pm.
The State of Maine now offers burn permits online at no cost.
Follow the steps below to obtain your free burning permit.
You will need a printer to use this service.
Visit the website, https://www.maine.gov/burnpermit/.
Click on Get Started Now from the main screen.
Enter Woodstock in the Municipality Name section, choose your burn type, and click continue.
The system will automatically check the daily Maine Forest Service Fire Danger classification and display it at the top of the page.
A burning permit can only be obtained on fire danger class days low and moderate.
If the report reflects safe burning conditions:
Complete the “Burn Permit Application” and click on Continue.
Review the “Minimum Requirements” section, agree to both sections, and click Continue.
A confirmation page will appear with your permit number displayed. Click on Download Permit.
Print and sign the burn permit. Please remember to read and follow the instructions on the permit.
